What your IP address reveals
Any site you visit sees your public IP address, and from it your country, usually your city, and your provider. It does not reveal your street address: the coordinates point to the area where your provider registers its network.
Why the city may be wrong
Mobile operators and large providers often route subscribers through a shared gateway in another city. A VPN or proxy shows its server’s address, not yours.
What happens to your data
Your address is read when the page loads and is not stored anywhere. To look up any other address, use the IP lookup.
