M3U playlist checker

Load your M3U or M3U8: find dead channels, duplicates, entries without a TV guide and file errors, see stream quality, and download a cleaned playlist. Multicast links can be converted to udpxy on the way.

The file is parsed in your browser. To check streams, URLs are sent to our server, which downloads the first few KB of each stream and closes the connection. Up to 400 channels at a time. Many ISPs only let their own subscribers in, so "access denied" does not always mean the channel is broken.

What an M3U playlist contains

#EXTM3U url-tvg="https://…/epg.xml.gz"
#EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="channel.ru" tvg-logo="https://…/logo.png" group-title="News" catchup="shift" catchup-days="3",Channel HD
https://…/index.m3u8
  • url-tvg — where the player gets the TV guide (XMLTV).
  • tvg-id — links the channel to the guide. Without it the guide only matches by exact name.
  • group-title — the folder in the channel list.
  • catchup, catchup-days — catch-up (archive), if the provider offers it.
  • #EXTVLCOPT:http-user-agent=… — the User-Agent to use; some servers refuse video without it.

Multicast and udpxy

ISP IPTV is often multicast, with links like udp://@239.1.1.1:1234. It works over a cable but breaks up on Wi-Fi, because access points send multicast at the lowest rate. udpxy on the router turns multicast into a plain HTTP stream, http://192.168.1.1:4022/udp/239.1.1.1:1234, which phones, smart TVs and VLC can play. The router config comes from the IPTV router setup generator.

Where to get a playlist

We do not hand out playlists. Legal sources are your ISP (many offer an M3U in the customer portal) and the channels' official services. Players for each device: IPTV players.
