How to choose
- The starting price is usually a small pack for a few days. Compare the price for the data you actually need: 1 GB covers maps and messaging for 2–3 days, 5–10 GB a week with social media.
- Visiting several countries? Check regional plans: often cheaper than one eSIM per country.
- Need to share data with a laptop? Make sure the plan allows a hotspot.
FAQ
What is an eSIM
A SIM built into your phone and installed from a QR code. No plastic card, and your usual SIM stays in: calls and texts to your number still arrive.
Does my phone support eSIM
iPhone XS/XR and later, Google Pixel 3 and later, Samsung Galaxy S20 and later, and most recent flagships. The phone must be carrier-unlocked. Dial *#06#: if you see an EID, eSIM is supported.
When to install it
At home on good Wi-Fi: it takes a couple of minutes. Most plans start counting when the eSIM first connects in the destination.
Can I make calls
Most travel eSIMs are data only; call over messaging apps. For regular calls, Dingo offers calls in the same app.
Calling code and number format: Réunion: phone code. Need a local number for calls and SMS: country codes.
