FAQ

What is an eSIM

A SIM built into your phone and installed from a QR code. No plastic card, and your usual SIM stays in: calls and texts to your number still arrive.

Does my phone support eSIM

iPhone XS/XR and later, Google Pixel 3 and later, Samsung Galaxy S20 and later, and most recent flagships. The phone must be carrier-unlocked. Dial *#06#: if you see an EID, eSIM is supported.

When to install it

At home on good Wi-Fi: it takes a couple of minutes. Most plans start counting when the eSIM first connects in the destination.

Can I make calls

Most travel eSIMs are data only; call over messaging apps. For regular calls, Dingo offers calls in the same app.

Prices are the cheapest starter plans on each provider’s site (November 2026); data and validity differ and prices change. Links are affiliate links: buying through them costs you nothing extra and supports this site.
