What it means
Home Assistant could not load part of the configuration: a required key is missing or a value has the wrong type. The rest loads, but this automation (or integration) is skipped.
Why it happens
- A typo or wrong indentation moved a key into another block.
- An unquoted template or on/off turned into the wrong type.
- A key from newer or older documentation that this version does not know.
How to fix it
- Open the file at the line in the message and compare the structure with the documentation.
- Paste the file into the YAML checker: it finds unquoted templates, bad indentation and unknown keys.
- Developer tools → YAML → Check configuration before every restart.
