Hash generator

Compute MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384 and SHA-512 of text or a file, for example to verify the checksum of a downloaded image. The file is not uploaded.

Everything runs in your browser: nothing you enter is sent anywhere.

To verify a download, compute its SHA-256 and compare it with the one the developer publishes: a match means the file is intact and untampered. MD5 and SHA-1 are only good for that: they have long been unsafe for passwords and signatures.
