AdGuard Home and Pi-hole

Block ads and trackers for the whole home network: proven blocklists, encrypted upstream DNS, a ready AdGuardHome.yaml fragment, Pi-hole commands and handing out the DNS from MikroTik, OpenWrt and Keenetic.

Blocklists
Upstream DNS (DNS-over-HTTPS)

Everything runs in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.

How it works

AdGuard Home or Pi-hole becomes the DNS server for every device at home: it answers “nothing” for ad and tracking domains, so ads do not load on TVs, phones and apps with nothing installed. The router hands its address out over DHCP. Do not stack too many lists: two or three good ones (AdGuard DNS filter plus HaGeZi or OISD) block nearly everything, and more break sites.

AdGuard Home does DNS-over-HTTPS itself; Pi-hole needs cloudflared or unbound for it. Run them in Docker: docker-compose. Compare DNS speed: DNS speed test.
